What's New With Wicket
Wicket just hit a major milestone by crossing 10 million successful interactions on our platform! What started as an express lane pilot for a few hundred fans in 2020 has now grown into the leading facial authentication solution for sports venues and live events. If you’d like, you can read more about it in our recent blog post highlighting the milestone.
Now, let’s dive into the updates:
Enhanced Reporting Capabilities
In an effort to provide our customers with greater visibility into enrollment and use of Wicket’s products at their facilities, venues, and events, we’ve introduced some enhancements and new reporting capabilities as part of our rollout of Wicket Admin. In addition to our existing enrollment and interaction webhooks, it’s never been easier to analyze use of Wicket at your facilities and events.
Additionally, as part of our effort to contintually improve the Wicket platform to further protect data privacy and security, reports will now be delivered to Wicket Admin users via email with an expirable download link.
Here’s what’s new:
- Event Summary – This PDF report can be generated and delivered via email after an individual event or multiple events within a 30-day window to summarize enrollment and usage.
- Ticket Detail Report – This report was built to provide ticketing customers with an easy way to download a CSV file of usage associated with a specific event or time period within that past 30 days. It includes columns for all available data related to each individual interaction.
- Enrollment Status Report – This new report allows Wicket Admin users with the proper permissions to export enrollment data of their users to track enrollment campaign effectiveness and to see when new users are enrolling.
- Interactions Export – This new capability allows you to configure and export usage data from your events at a more granular level of detail to analyze usage and gain additional visibility into the guest experience.
Wicket Admin Is Now Live
Wicket Admin, our modernized web application that turns almost everything you do with Wicket into intuitive, self-serve workflows, is now available to all customers. Admin replaces our legacy Wicket Access application that some customers may be familiar with, which will no longer be supported in favor of transitioning all users to Wicket Admin. Our support team will continue to always be available to assist as it relates to your use of the Wicket platform, but Wicket Admin puts more power directly into your hands to manage and operate your deployments of Wicket facial authentication products.
We also have our customer knowledge base that you can reference to find a bunch of helpful information as it relates to using Wicket Admin and the rest of the Wicket platform. You can access it using the link below.
ID Verification for Event Registration
Through our partners at IDmission, Wicket customers have been able to have their fans and attendees perform ID verification as part of Wicket enrollment since 2023. This capability has largely been used to confirm the age of the user for age-restricted purchases or to match their photo to a provided ID for ticket packages to reduce fraud. To date, over 50,000 ID verifications have been completed for customers.
We have recently introduced the option to utilize the same approach as part of existing third-party registration and user authentication workflows. This feature allows customers to verify the true identities of attendees registering for their events through a simple process that has the attendee submit their government issued ID along with their selfie. Wicket then ensures that the photo on the ID matches the live selfie, resulting in a verified user with a real name.
This use case was built to enable identity verification with ANY third party system that has an integration with Wicket. If you’re interested to hear more about this new feature, please reach out to your Wicket contact. This use case was built to enable identity verification with ANY third party system that has an integration with Wicket. Wicket Auth
We’ll soon be rolling out Wicket Auth, which will put facial authentication at the beginning of the Wicket enrollment flow as opposed to third-party login. This change will put our core product and user experience first, creating a streamlined user workflow for customers deploying multiple Wicket use cases and ultimately reducing the number of abandoned enrollments. This will also make it easier for existing users to authenticate into their Wicket account to make any changes to their existing enrollments or to enroll in additional use cases.
Wicket Auth will simplify enrollment and is the first step of a multi-phase redesign of enrollment as part of our ongoing efforts to continually improve the user experience based on customer and user feedback. More on that in the coming months!
CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT: BAUHAUS-galan brought the option of “Fast Track” entry to attendees at historic Stockholm Olympic Stadium for their leg of the Wanda Diamond League track and field series. In one of our latest customer case studies, we highlight how they used the Wicket platform to streamline entry for ticketed entry, accreditation checkpoints, and VIP access.
New Integrations
Very Good Security (VGS)
We have made a significant improvement to Wicket payments capabilities through our new integration with Very Good Security (VGS), a cloud-based security and data privacy platform that specializes in payment tokenization. This new integration enables customers to utilize a singular “Wicket Wallet” that acts as a centralized card vault that is tailor-made for routing amongst multiple payment processors. This means that end users can utilize a single stored payment method in Wicket even for customer venues and events that have multiple payment processors and point of sale systems across their various retail locations. More to come on this soon!
Fortress
Wicket now has an integration with Fortress which is capable of handling a variety of use cases thanks to their use of Wicket’s AuthKit SDK. Although primarily focused on ticketing to start, this enables the use of Wicket facial authentication on Fortress devices for multi-use applications such as ticketing, credentialing, and payments. This adds to a growing list of partners utilizing our developer kits and integration tools to embed Wicket software into existing hardware and third party systems.
