DOYLESTOWN, PA. — February 26, 2026 — Wicket, the leading facial authentication platform provider in live events, today announced that the Calgary Flames have become Wicket’s first Canadian customer. The Flames will deploy Wicket’s opt-in facial ticketing technology this season at VIP entry lanes, starting in March.
This deployment will enable Flames fans attending home games at the Scotiabank Saddledome to experience Wicket’s frictionless facial ticketing for VIP lanes. The initiative is designed to enhance convenience and reduce queuing times for premium ticketholders, setting a new standard for the fan experience in professional sports.
This rollout comes as the Flames prepare for their transition to their new arena, Scotia Place, which opens in 2027. The organization anticipates expanding Wicket’s facial ticketing solution throughout the entire venue for all fans upon the arena’s opening.
“We’re always looking for ways to enhance the experience for Flames fans, and this partnership with Wicket positions us at the forefront of fan-centric innovation,” said Ziad Mehio, Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer at the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. “With the upcoming move to Scotia Place, we’re excited to test new technology that will help make every visit more seamless and enjoyable.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Calgary Flames as our first team in Canada,” said Alastair Partington, CEO of Wicket. “This deployment demonstrates the Flames’ commitment to innovation and fan experience, and we’re proud to support them in bringing frictionless access and next-generation ticketing to their fanbase.”
