Mercedes-Benz Stadium is more than just a stadium—it’s a destination. Routinely included in lists of the best stadiums in North America, MBS has a reputation to uphold for all of their visitors.
To further elevate the fan experience, MBS partnered with Wicket to build out a collection of innovative in-stadium experiences that minimize wait times and maximize enjoyment.
Stadium entry is the first touch point for fans and sets the tone for their experience. Mercedes-Benz Stadium incorporated Delta, one of their Founding Partners, into this personalized experience that greets guests by name and gives them the feeling of “flying” through entry and into the stadium to spend more time doing what they came to do: enjoying the event.
Everything from the enrollment website to on-site lanes and signage were thoughtfully designed to be intuitive for fans, efficient for operations, and to align the Delta brand with a sensational fan experience that delights.
Enrollment in Delta Fly-Through Lanes is opt-in only and fans can opt-out at any time if they wish. Fans also have the option to enroll to use facial payments at MBS.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium uses the same Wicket software across different fan-facing touchpoints – including gate entry, club entry, self-serve bars, and express markets.
To use Delta Fly-Through Lanes, fans just need to visit an enrollment site and upload their photo.
Use of Wicket technology has reduced the burden on staff by reducing manual checks and scans.
Wicket solutions have been proven to speed up ticketed entry by 4x on average across hundreds of events.
Enrollment was really simple, and now that I’ve used it I’ll never be going back to waiting in line again.
Fan Testimonial
Spirited Self-Serve utilizes Wicket’s facial authentication software alongside a cutting-edge dispenser to let enrolled fans select, pour, and enjoy a variety of mixed drinks within seconds. This integration has helped to maximize throughput, especially during peak times such as pre-kickoff and halftime periods.
Enrolled fans have a stored payment method as part of their fan account to speed up purchases.
Checkout-free technology revolutionizes the concessions experience by providing fans with the ability to “grab and go.” Enrolled fans can conveniently use Wicket technology to enter these markets, such as the ATL Market, to grab their items in record time and get back to the event.
Wicket facial authentication can easily be connected to self-serve kiosks, autonomous stores, portable coolers, and more.
As part of a league-wide NFL facial credentialing program, Mercedes-Benz Stadium benefits from use of an integration between Wicket and Accredit Solutions that is utilized by gameday staff, members of the press, and other credential holders for fast and secure access to designated areas.
Credential holders are identified in less than a second—eliminating the need for security to manually check credentials.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium also takes advantage of Wicket’s multi-purpose platform for employee entry at specific doors and entrances. Easy-to-use software allows admins and managers to quickly add or remove access, edit permissions, or onboard new employees in minutes.
Facial access control eliminates the need to carry a physical key card for entry into restricted locations.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium continues to scale out their usage of Wicket facial authentication, and has seen growing adoption and usage by fans. This has had a tangible impact on not only the fan experience for ticketing and concessions payments, but also from an operational perspective to improve the staff and employee experience.
Implementing technology just for the sake of technology is not what we do. We are purposeful. Our goal is to provide solutions that best serve and take care of the guests who visit our stadium. Wicket has been a key partner in helping us create first-class experiences and we are excited to keep that going.
